2015 Grace Cossington Smith Art Award Finalists Announced - Art Collector

The Grace Cossington Smith Gallery has announced its’ 15 finalists for the 2015 Grace Cossington Smith Art Award, from 300 national submissions.

Entrants were asked to respond to the theme of Making Connections and to create two-dimensional artworks for the award. Anneke Jaspers, Assistant curator Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of NSW and Dr. Stephen Little, Head of Painting at National Art School selected the finalists' works.

Of the finalists, the selectors said "The variety and diversity of the submissions revealed great rigour and quality from artists at differing stages in their career."

The 15 finalists include; Jake Blaschka, Marinka Bozzec, Penelope Cain, Tamara Dean, Chris Dolman, Sara Freeman, Adrienne Gaha, Erika Gofton, Ryan Hoffmann, Pollyxenia Joannou, Tom Loveday, Janet Parker-Smith, Senye Shen, Mark Titmarsh and Sean Wadey.

The art award, worth $15,000 will be exhibited from 7 November to 5 December 2015 at Grace Cossington Smith Gallery, Wahroonga. Judges, Damien Minton and Geoffrey Legge will announce the winner at 3pm on Saturday 7 November.
