Flinders Lane Gallery is set to celebrate its quarter-century birthday in style, with a 25-artist exhibition that is as much an ode to the city of Melbourne as it is a celebration of the gallery’s remarkable milestone. Flinders Lane Gallery calls the exhibition a sign of their respect for the city that has nurtured their artists for so long.

The featured artists have created artworks that reflect their own sentiments of Melbourne, ranging from a reference to the prolific fashion scene to a depiction of the Melbourne’s love for all things black. The result is a rich and diverse body of works by some of the city’s most loved artists.

Flinders Lane Gallery has curated over 500 exhibitions since it’s opening in 1989. It is a gallery fueled by the desire to be both accessible and inclusive as an arts organization, and to cultivate and enrich the talents of artists and the passions of art lovers.

The exhibition officially opens with celebratory drinks on 20 September at 8pm, and runs from 16 September 2014 to 4 October 2014.
