On 11 November 2016, The Art Gallery of New South Wales announced the appointment of Maud Page as Deputy Director and Director of Collections. Page takes the place of Suhanya Raffel who recently assumed the role of Director of M+ in Hong Kong.
Page departs Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art (QAGOMA) where she has worked since 2002 and where she has held the position of Deputy Director, Collection and Exhibitions since 2012. She joins AGNSW as the institution prepares for a much-anticipated art museum expansion project. Funding of the expansion has been a hot topic in the Sydney media, and one that Page’s predecessor, Raffel, has strongly endorsed.
Director Michael Brand noted that “as well as being a clear strategic thinker, Maud has extensive curatorial experience across historical and contemporary art.” Page is due to commence her new role in January 2017.
