ART HK12 announces return of fair highlights - Art Collector

23 April 2012 | ART HK12 is getting ready for another busy year announcing the return of the ASIA ONE section and the inclusion of new galleries under ART FUTURES at this year’s fair. The fair opening 17 May at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is presenting artists from 266 galleries across the world. The Australian contingent this year will include Roslyn Oxley9 Gallery Barry Keldoulis, Neon Parc and Tristian Koenig, to name a few.

ASIA ONE will be returning for its second year focusing on artists from the Asia Pacific region. Australian galleries Sullivan+Strumpf and Nellie Castan Gallery will be presenting in this section with Sullivan+Strumpf showing sculptor Alexander Seton and Nellie Castan presenting video and performance artist Bindi Cole

Victorian gallery Anna Pappas Gallery will be participating for the at this year’s event under ART FUTURES. This section is aimed at showing emerging artists under 35 years and Anna Pappas will be showing installation artist Michael Gleave. Gleave will be building her piece
We are made of Stardust in Hong Kong prior to the fair’s opening.

For the first time at ART HK12, ART HK PROJECTS will be curated by Yuko Hasegawa, chief Curator of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Tokyo. He has chosen to show Chinese artist Yin Xiuzhen from Pace Gallery in Beijing, Yayoi Kusama from Gagosian Gallery in Hong Kong and Tatsuyo Miyajima from SCAI THE BATHHOUSE in Tokyo.

ART HK12 runs from 17 to 20 May.
