|18 September 2013 | The line up for the 2014 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art has been announced. With its gothic cinematic title Dark Heart, according to curator Nick Mitzevich the 2014 Adelaide Biennial will be, “an inherently emotional and immersive exhibition, one that explores the underbelly of contemporary culture.” |
There are over 25 Australia artists selected for the exhibition including Brook Andrew, Del Kathryn Barton, Martin Bell, Ian Burns, eX de Medici, Julia deVille, Dale Frank, Tony Garifalakis, Fiona Hall, Bill Henson, Brendan Huntley, Kulata Project – Tjala Arts, Richard Lewer, Dani Marti, Trent Parke, Ben Quilty, Caroline Rothwell, Alexander Seton, Sally Smart, Ian Strange, Warwick Thornton, Lynette Wallworth, Martumili artists and Ah Xian.
|Dark Heart will also feature special projects such as Patricia Piccinini’s Skywhale and the work of Julia Robinson that will transform The Studio activity space.|
The accompanying biennial publication will continue to investigate the difficult and discordant themes of the exhibition with a feature essay by Germaine Greer.
The 2014 Adelaide Biennial runs from Saturday 1 March to Sunday 11 May 2014.
