Drawn to materials that are weathered and worn, Alex Asch reinterprets found objects in the construction of his unique sculptures. For this exhibition, Alex has transformed his houses into wall façades that have become more concerned with the language of painting, composition and colour. The interiors are collaged with the exterior landscape; birds, fish and suited men lie behind coloured glass with the windows and doors acting as the eyes and mouths of his silent buildings. Alex's work is represented in several collections including Artbank, The ACT Legislative Assembly and Canberra Museum and Gallery as well as corporate collections in Australia, USA, UK and Netherlands.
