Alexander McKenzies highly anticipated new exhibition “Seen across water” opens on November 15th 2018. In this new exhibition McKenzie continues his exploration of implied narrative and complex symbolism within the landscape. The paintings are vast, layered and complex. McKenzie treats the landscape in his signature style but with new colour, lighter  tones, highly rendered detail and a shimmering surface. These paintings capture the gardens reflective lakes, ornate trees and subtle skies all swept up in the artists unique dramatic vision.

Alexander McKenzie has exhibited extensively in Australia and the U.K. He has been a six time finalist in the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ Archibald Prize. He has also been a finalist on numerous occasions in both the Wynne and Dobell prizes. McKenzie’s work is held in major collections including Macquarie Bank, The Royal Bank of Scotland, the Park Hyatt Melbourne, and Price Waterhouse Coopers, London as well as in private collections in Australia, Britain, Scotland, Ireland, Hong Kong and the USA.
