ANDREW BALDWIN: IMPERMANENCE
Andrew Baldwin: impermanence - Art Collector
|'Green Void 1', blown glass, 52 x 45 x 12cm. Courtesy the artist and Beaver Galleries. |
For glass artist, Andrew Baldwin, the vessel has become a vehicle to explore notions of impermanence and emptiness. The profound beauty in these Buddhist ideas is represented within the flowing coloured lines that softly weave around the central ‘void’ in the glass surface. Andrew graduated with Honours from the Glass Workshop at the Australian National University, School of Art in 2000. He now has works held in the collections of the National Gallery of Australia, National Glass Collection at the Wagga Wagga Art Gallery and the Toyama City Glass Collection (Japan).
