Anna Waldmann to speak in Istanbul - Art Collector

22 August 2011 | Sydney art adviser Anna Waldmann has been invited to participate in a one-day conference in Istanbul which will take place during the Istanbul Biennale.

Waldmann will be part of a panel discussion on cities as cultural hubs, which looks at the role of cultural institutions and events in transforming a city into a cultural hub. She will speak alongside artist Ay┼če Erkmen, who represented Turkey at the 54th Venice Biennale, and curator Catherine David.

Waldmann, a member of the Art Consulting Association of Australia, has over 25 years’ experience in the visual arts including as a curator at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and director of the visual arts for the Australia Council.

The City and Culture conference will also include a session on the role of architecture in city culture, and a keynote speech by architect Jacques Herzog. It will take place on 19 September 2011.
