Anna-Marÿke: New Work - Art Collector

Anna-Marÿke, Untitled. Courtesy: the artist

Anna-Marÿke is an Australian artist who concentrates on analogue photography. For the past 25 years she has worked primarily in black and white and focussed on archaeological ruins as her subject. Since 2003 she has started exploring the use of colour in the studio, using a fixed-lens camera and transparency. The subject, Still Life, pays homage to her Dutch father, artist Gerard Havekes, and all that he embodied. Anna-Marÿke collects much of the material found in her self-constructed, real-time compositions from her immediate environment in the Southern Highlands. This exhibition is the culmination of the last nine years working in the studio.
