Anton Pulvirenti: Peregrine - Art Collector

Anton Pulvirenti, C.R.1, 2012. 75 x 46cm. Conte on paper.

This new body of illustrated and painted work moves between sovereign theory, symbolist revelation and memories of wartime internment. These representational works examine the underside narratives of the World War Two internment experience through the “animal-man” figure, to mediate present and past cultural memory. In particular, it symbolises for the artist the complexity of the Italian-Australian migratory experience.
