15 November 2010 | Melissa Loughnan of Utopian Slumps is curating a charity exhibition at Melbourne pop-up bar Shebeen this month. Titled Pin Up Your Doodle, the exhibition will feature doodles, illustrations and cocktail napkin sketches from artists including Jake Walker, Mark Rodda, Tai Snaith and Amber Wallis as well as music, TV and radio personalities.

Most will be available for sale at the exhibition but the more artistically desirable doodles will be auctioned by Sotheby’s Ben Clark at the Australian Centre for Contemporary Art on 24 November 2010.

Exhibition & auction proceeds will go towards securing a permanent venue for the pop-up bar Shebeen. Due to open in Melbourne in the new year, organisers claim Shebeen will be the world’s first non-profit bar. It will serve beers and wines from the developing world, including Windhoek from Namibia and a Vietnamese beer called Huda.

Pin Up Your Doodle will be on show from 18 to 21 November 2010.
