ArtHK's Magnus Renfrew makes it onto the Power 100 - Art Collector

18 October 2010 | In a further sign that ArtHK’s star is rising, fair director Magnus Renfrew has crept onto ArtReview’s Power 100 list this year.

The list ranks the most powerful figures of the international art world according to factors such as influence over the production of art internationally, sheer financial clout and activity in the previous 12 months.

Renfrew ranked 92nd, being recognised for attracting big-name galleries to ArtHK and increasing visitor numbers to the still relatively new international art fair.

Also appearing in this year’s list is curator Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev, a name very familiar to Australian audiences through her work for the 2008 Biennale of Sydney. Christov-Bakargiev climbed from 80th spot to 65th this year, largely due to her recent appointment as artistic director of the Documenta 13, which will take place in 2012 in Kassel, Germany.
