5 February 2013 | Artist and volunteer run initiative Peloton has announced it will close this year following the withdrawal of their annual funding.

Peloton was started in 2004 to address the lack of venues for emerging and mid career artists to exhibit in Sydney. As a non profit organisation they prided themselves on offering exhibitions without any cost to the artists involved. They have showcased the works of over 350 Australian and international artists.

Peloton's final exhibition will be a group show of artists closely involved with the gallery in the past and those who the gallery had planned to exhibit this year. On 10 March 2013 the gallery doors will close for the final time. Peloton was funded by the New South Wales Government through Arts NSW.
