31 October 2011 | Tim Silver, Richard Bell and Timothy Cook are among the artists selected for the 2012 Adelaide Biennial. Co-curators Natasha Bullock, a curator with the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and Alexie Glass-Kantor, the director of Gertrude Contemporary Art Spaces in Melbourne, have subtitled the biennial Parallel Collisions. The name refers to the way the present both runs parallel to and collides with the past, and the way ideas emerge and re-form over time. “What we were interested in when considering the biennial was the idea of four key words: time, parallel, collision and trespass. We really wanted to explore the richness of ideas through time – how, when the dimension of time is introduced, collision becomes possible,” Bullock and Glass-Kantor said in a joint press statement. Twenty-one artists have been selected to produce commissions for the biennial: | ||||
