Auction raises funds for new Christchurch artist studios - Art Collector
![]() A new charity called ArtBox has been founded in an effort to find and create new art venues and on 27 October 2011 ArtBox will be holding a charity art auction with Webb’s to raise funds for its latest initiative. The auction will raise money for the construction of 18 modules, each costing $12,500, which have already been booked for use by 100 Christchurch artists who will pay a minimal weekly rental fee. These transportable gallery and studio modules can be interlocked and clustered to create temporary arts precincts. The auction features work by artists including young sculptor and printmaker Sam Harrison, painter Jason Greig, Jude Rae, Charlotte Fisher and Dick Frizzell.
