Australia Council appoints new CEO - Art Collector

22 May 2013 | The Australia Council has announced the appointment of Tony Grybowski as CEO of the organisation, effective immediately.

Grybowski has been executive director of the Australia Council's art organisations division since 2007. Rupert Myer, chair of the Australia Council, stated that Grybowski knows the arts landscape well and from the multiple perspectives of artist, arts administrator and member of state and federal funding bodies.

Myer also stated that the appointment came after an extensive search and that the Australia Council was ultimately pleased that their internal succession planning delivered the ideal candidate. Grybowski has said that he is honoured to be taking the role and that he anticipates an exciting future for the Council and for the arts in Australia.
