Bangarra Dance Theatre: Ochres - Art Collector

Ochres by Bangarra, Tara Gower, photo by Edward Mulvihill

For its 21st anniversary return season, Artistic Director Stephen Page brings a new awakening of this iconic work that revealed Bangarra to the world. In all its forms and colours, ochres are essential to the life of Aboriginal communities. This four-part contemporary dance work— yellow, black, red and white—is a portrayal for each colour and its spiritual significance to Aboriginal people. Ochres marks the first Bangarra season at Carriageworks.
