Biennale of Sydney appoints Julian Knights - Art Collector

14 August 2013 | The Biennale of Sydney has just announced the appointment of Julian Knights as their new board director.

Knights was the chairman of the Sydney Dance Company from 2007 until this year, when he received the appointment of chair of the Major Performing Arts Panel in the revamped Australia Council boards. He also has over 30 years experience in the financial services industry. He is founding director of private equity firm Ironbridge Capital and has been chairman of Australian Private Equity and Venture Capital Association since 2008.

CEO of the Biennale of Sydney, Marah Braye, stated that the Biennale has gained a tremendous asset with this appointment. Knights stated that the Biennale is a landmark event in the Australian arts landscape and that he is very excited to join the team.

The 19th Biennale of Sydney has thus far released a teaser line up of 20 international artists and has confirmed major venues like Cockatoo Island, the Art Gallery of New South Wales, and the Museum of Contemporary Art. It will run from 21 March until 9 June 2014.
