Charles Blackman: Survey and Retrospective Exhibition - Art Collector

Charles Blackman, ‘Young Girl Sleeping’, 1962. Oil on glass, 28.5 x 37cm. Courtesy: the artist and Anthea Polson Art, Main Beach.

Managers of the Charles Blackman Foundation, Charles' daughters Christabel and Bertie have collaborated with Anthea Polson Art to curate this special exhibition, bringing together a unique vision of the artist’s works to present as an acknowledgment of Charles' ninety years and to honour and revere an extraordinary contribution to Australian Art.

Inspired deftness shines through this wide-ranging collection and give us an insight into Charles’ working mind, how it ran fluidly and lucidly between the complex and the compelling, through a simple gesture or moment, all could be expressed. Blackman was a true master of the image.
