Charles Nodrum Gallery - Art Collector

Prior to opening his own gallery in 1984, the director Charles Nodrum worked at the Joseph Brown Gallery, managed Christie's Melbourne, and worked as a principal researcher for Alan McCulloch's Encyclopedia of Australian Art.

Nodrum is a qualified valuer for all periods of Australian art with the Department of Education, the Arts and Culture and Cultural Gifts Program since its inception in 1978. He has done a number of valuations of significant public, corporate and private collections for insurance and other purposes. These include the Museum of Contemporary Art; Allen, Allen and Hemsley (Sydney); Holmes à Court Collection (Perth); Gippsland Art Gallery; Warrnambool Art Gallery; National Australia Bank; Western Mining Corporation Baillieu Myer Collection of the 1980s gift to Heide Museum of Modern Art (Melbourne); Bank of Melbourne Collection gift to various regional galleries in Victoria; and the Besen/Sussan Collection gift to TarraWarra Museum of Art (Melbourne).

Charles Nodrum Gallery is located just off Bridge Road in Richmond, Melbourne. Comprising four gallery spaces, there is always something new to see. The gallery's list of represented artists embraces a diversity of media and styles from painting and sculpture to works on paper. With experienced and friendly staff sharing in over 50 years of knowledge, it can assist in building an art collection, adding to current holdings or buying a one-off piece.
