Christine Willcocks combines a range of printmaking, painting, drawing and installation work to create personal narratives drawn from the natural world. Exploring ideas of authenticity through the presentation of objects, Willcocks is interested in collections and the psychology of display. She employs a range of display devices such as vitrines, domes and antique frames to house contemporary works, highlighting the way museological traditions and our relationships to preservation may influence the way we more readily accept the value of stories told in the museum context. In changing the context of items and the way they are presented, Willcocks examines their perceived value and meaning.
