Christopher Hanrahan: A Class - Art Collector

Continuing Christopher Hanrahan’s on-going fascination with the politics of representation, A Class features sculptural sets and signifiers that allude to bodies, time and labour, while resisting simple categorisation. As with earlier exhibitions, Hanrahan re-presents the objects and forms of our quotidian existence stripped back and robbed of their inherent functionality. Hanrahan plays with the context and hierarchies of sculpture and support, language and object, function and representation, and leaves the status of each constituent part mobile and slippery, despite its manifest materiality.
