Col Henry wins acquisitive Swell festival prize - Australian Art Collector

10 October 2011 | Sculptor Col Henry has won the Gold Coast City Council Acquisition Prize in Queensland’s Swell Sculpture Festival.

As part of the festival, the council acquires a work up to the value of $20,000.

Henry, who has been practising and teaching sculpture for the past 40 years, was selected for a group of 450 centimetre tall works made from iron bark, copper and stainless steel.

Secondary awards went to Pat Hoffie & Stefan Purcell, and David Ardley.
