6 June 2011 | Sydney’s Damien Minton Gallery marks its 10th anniversary this month with a group exhibition celebrating the gallery’s Novocastrian roots.

The gallery used to be on Pacific Street in Newcastle, but moved to its current premises in Redfern in Sydney six years ago.

In recognition of the support and encouragement the gallery received during these early years in Newcastle, director Damien Minton has chosen to stage the anniversary exhibition at the Newcastle Art Space.

It will feature the work of gallery artists who are either from Newcastle or have some connection to it, such as Dallas Bray, Peter Gardiner and Isabel Gomez.

Euan Macleod’s latest suite of works on paper, which depicts Newcastle, will also be exhibited courtesy of Watters Gallery, Sydney.

The anniversary exhibition commences at the Newcastle Art Space on 10 June 2011.
