Dani Marti: Red on Red - Art Collector

Dani Marti, Composition in Pink and Red, 2018. Polyester and aluminium, 172 x 172 x 8cm. Courtesy of the artist and Dominik Mersch Gallery, NSW. Dani Marti has crafted new works that explore the psychology of surface through acrylic, polyester and aluminium. Hanging on the wall and freestanding in the gallery space, these works take on the guise of abstract paintings as each raw part acts as a fleck of paint, creating shades within shades of pulsating primary colours.

This exhibition marks a turning point in Marti’s practice, where his approach to abstraction shifts away from human encounters to optical play. Even so, the tangible structures of re-purposed rope and warped road reflectors flirt with the viewer’s perception.

Exhibition Opens: 6pm_8pm, Thursday 17 May 2018.
Exhibition Closes:16 June 2018
