Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair 2013 - Art Collector

Artwork by Pantijii Mackenzie. Courtesy: the artist, Tjanpi Desert Weavers, Northern Territory, and Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair

Held on Larrakia Lands at the Convention Centre in the newly developed Waterfront Precinct, Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair coincides with the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards and the Darwin Festival; a time when the city of Darwin becomes the focal point of the nation for visitors with an interest in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island arts.

The fair provides a unique opportunity for arts industry buyers and the public to purchase art directly from the Indigenous owned and incorporated art centres, to see the work of emerging as well as established artists, to meet the artists and to find out about the variety of different cultural groups producing art, as well as the range of styles, mediums and products available. There will be paintings on canvas, bark paintings, works on paper, timber and metal sculptures, limited edition prints, didjeridus, fibre art and jewelry.
