DAVID NOONAN: LEAD LIGHT
David Noonan: Lead Light - Art Collector

David Noonan's works in Lead Light are delicately collaged linen that have a beautiful contrast in their tonal range. The distinction with this body of work compared to previous ones, is that Noonan has used a very thin layer of silver and pearlescent pigment to slightly dye the natural linen on which he silk screens his images. This almost translucent metallic base, makes the surface of the works subtly shimmer in certain light. Each work is a portrait of an individual wearing or applying some form of make up, overlaid with a window or glass piece made from the craft tradition of lead lighting. Each piece is framed in a silver steel tray frame completing the piece’s elegant aesthetic.
