24 January 2011 | Abstract painter Denise Green will be staging a major museum exhibition in Germany next month. The solo exhibition – titled Denise Green: After Ju Chao, Ju Lian, Richter, Wiebke, LeWitt, Albers, Manet in acknowledgement of her recent influences – will be hosted by the Neue Galerie im Hoehmannhass in near Munich, Germany.

The centrepiece of the exhibition will be a large-scale wall painting over six metres wide, of an arc-like shape embedded into a field of three closely related colours in the cobalt violet family.

Green discusses her ongoing interest in the motif in this
interview with Australian Art Collector, which took place during her April 2010 exhibition at Liverpool Street Gallery.

The wall-painting will be accompanied by three configurations of 45 small-scale reliefs. Green says the shapes, scale, colour and structure of these works will be an amalgamation of Eastern and Western influences.

The Augsburg exhibition runs from 17 February to 24 April 2010 and Green will also be exhibiting at Galerie Heike Curtzed in Vienna for four weeks from 19 February 2011.
