27 November 2012 | The director of the Ian Potter Museum of Art, Dr Chris McAuliffe, has announced he will resign from his position in February 2013.

McAuliffe has been the museum’s director for over a decade. In July this year he returned to lead a last term as director after acting as the chair of Australian studies at Harvard University for one year.

McAuliffe, also an art historian, intends to focus on his broader research, writing and creative interests. The University of Melbourne has announced it will soon commence an international search for a new director.
