Dónal Molloy-Drum: Closer - Art Collector

Dónal Molloy-Drum, Heaney's wall, 2016, stainless steel, plywood veneer, plaster, H 55 x W 79 x D 34cm

Dónal Molloy-Drum is an Irish sculptor who immigrated to Australia in 1997. Since coming to Australia, one of Molloy-Drums greatest sources of inspiration has been his surrounding landscape. The vast space of the Wimmera region has been pivotal to the direction of his work in recent years. Molloy-Drum was the recipient of the Fehily Contemporary Award given at the Yering Station Sculpture Exhibition and Awards in 2014. As a component of the award, this new exhibition of works at Fehily Contemporary explores the ever evolving and transfigurative imagery of microscopic cells, and the similarities between microscopic cells and the small details that can be found within the landscape.
