|Edwin Tanner was one of Australia's more enigmatic artists, practicing a dual career as both a professional engineer (working for BHP, Hydro Electricity Commission Tasmania and finally in Melbourne in Private Practice) and a respected exhibiting artist. The precision of his engineers hand and mind was dexterously adapted to series of paintings at once both inventive and idiosyncratic.
This difference set him apart from his peers and this exhibition, covering most aspects of his career, seeks to widen public perception of this unusual artist.|
