Eloise Kirk: From the Pointed Hill - Art Collector

Eloise Kirk, Slow Inertia, 2018. Collage, acrylic & resin 72 x 55cm. Courtesy of the artist and Colville Gallery.

"My work explores the unification of collage, sculpture and painting, sampling images of rock formations, waves and clouds. Through the use of assemblage and collage I use a sequence of symbolic arrangements. The work is explicitly elemental, partially concealed by dark textural plains and reflective pools of resin.

Drawing upon geological forms to forge connections between discarded images, fictionalising landscapes, a tangled narrative and the colonisation of images and objects, suggesting a vast and slow kind of vertigo, echoing surrealism, and hinting at a parallel alchemic world, one which co-exists with our own."
