Fashionable backer for the National Art School - Art Collector

23 July 2012 | Sydney’s National Art School has secured a new sponsor for the school’s postgraduate exhibition – the international fashion brand Emporio Armani.

The deal gives Emporio Armani naming rights for the exhibition for two years. Work will also be selected from the exhibition to tour to Emporio Armani stores in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.

While the deal might seem a bit left field, the Emporio Armani brand has a history of supporting cultural endeavours, though usually they’re of a larger scale. Past projects have included sponsorship of the Impressionisit exhibition last year in Paris, and a Richard Hambleton exhibition that toured Milan, London and New York.

The next National Art School postgraduate show is due to take place in November.
