25 September 2013 | The winners of the 38th Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award have been announced.

West Australian based artist Alex Maciver was awarded the main $15,000 acquisitive prize for his conceptual work
Faces, Faces Everywhere, pictured above. It references the practice of American artist Sam Glankoff, who pioneered a technique that combines printmaking and painting. The judges praised Maciver's work as a bold and transcendent visual statement. His work will join the City of Fremantle art collection.

New South Wales based artist Deidre Brollo was awarded the $5,000 non acquisitive prize for her artist's book
Fathom - a page is shown below. The judges said that Brollo's book masterfully exploits the power of narrative.

The 2013 Fremantle Arts Centre Print Award exhibition showcases the winning works, highly commended works and the other shortlisted submissions, and is on display at the Fremantle Arts Centre in Perth until 17 November.
