Gallery 4A secures multi-year funding - Art Collector

17 October 2011 | Gallery 4A in Sydney, a non-commercial space that specialises in Asian art, has secured multi-year funding from the Australia Council. This year the gallery was also elevated to key organisation status.

Chair of the council’s visual arts board Ted Snell pointed to the gallery’s growing audience. “4A is a dynamic organisation at the cutting edge of contemporary practice and after many years of hard work it is now in a good position to offer its adventurous and ambitious program of exhibitions and activities to a wider audience.”

Gallery 4A was founded in 1996. Its membership has included some of the key Asian-Australian artists, critics, curators and collectors. The increased funding will allow the gallery to continue its work, which focuses on creating Asian cultural networks and raising awareness of Asia Pacific art.
