Melbourne's Gallerysmith has announced their representation of Melbourne-based ceramist Fiona Hiscock.

Hiscock’s practice focuses on the tradition of decorative utilitarian ceramics, exploring the relationship between early colonial domestic ware and the artist’s Anglo-Celtic heritage.

The artist has recently become more engaged with her Australian identity and the narrative of her experience, depicting native flora and fauna on a range of hand-built ceramics. As stated by the gallery, these objects form “the canvas upon which Hiscock applies her botanical imagery, allowing the artist’s abiding interest in the natural world to flourish”.

Hiscock will exhibit a new body of works at Gallerysmith in October this year.
