Gertrude Contemporary announces new director - Art Collector

20 November 2013 | Gertrude Contemporary in Melbourne have just announced Emma Crimmings as its incoming director.

Crimmings was recently acting director and program manager of cultural affairs at the Australian Embassy in Washington DC. She has previously held the role of curator at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image and at the Australian Centre for Photography.

Speaking about her appointment, Crimmings stated that “with a unique and rich history, Gertrude Contemporary plays a vital role within the Australian arts community. I am looking forward to building upon the organization’s strengths, identifying new audiences and spearheading an exciting relocation plan.” She will commence her new role in mid January next year.

Gertrude Contemporary has also announced the artists who have been selected to partake in the gallery's 2014 studio program. They are Ross Coulter, Sarah CrowEST, Søren Dahlgaard, Minna Gilligan, Helen Grogan, Claire Lambe, Tully Moore, Sean Peoples and Danae Valenza.
