Sullivan+Strumpf of Sydney and Singapore yesterday announced that Glenn Barkley will be joining their stable of artists. Once well known as a champion for artists during his tenure as senior curator at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Australia (2008-2014), Barkley has since made his own name as an artist, working primarily with clay.

The artist was recently included in major exhibitions such as the
Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art: Magic Object, Art Gallery of South Australia (2016); The Garden of Earthly Delights, with Angela Brennan, Westspace, Melbourne (2016); Watching Clouds Pass the Moon, Lake Macquarie Regional Gallery, NSW (2016); and Glazed and Confused: Ceramics in Contemporary Art Practice, Hazelhurst Regional Gallery, NSW (2014). Barkley was also a finalist of the 2017 Sidney Myer Fund Australian Ceramic Award, Australia's premier acquisitive award for ceramics. His work features in the collections of Gallery of South Australia, National Gallery of Australia, Shepparton Art Museum and Artbank Sydney.
