17 April 2013 | The Govett-Brewster Art Gallery in New Plymouth, New Zealand is currently undergoing major maintenance and expansion.

A new facility is being built, the Len Lye Centre, and the main Govett-Brewster building is getting earthquake strengthening and upgrade work. The work began earlier this month and is scheduled to be completed in April 2015.

Although the Govett-Brewster building is closed during this period, director of the gallery Rhana Devenport states that the organisation will remain active. It will present projects by leading New Zealand artists Reuben Paterson, Tiffany Singh and Ann Shelton during this year.
