Grant Cowan: Ode to Ziegfeld Follies - Art Collector

In celebration of the Cultural Program for the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival 2012, artist Grant Cowan will showcase a visual representation of the 'pinnacle' of 20th century glamour, titled Ode to Ziegfeld Follies, will exhibit at MARS Gallery as part of the L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival. The Great Ziegfeld thrilled his audience with lavish productions, beaus & beauties. Grant draws upon Ziegfeld’s follies, with works that embody glamour and desire. Featuring works in Neon, a medium that has historically come to represent carnal desire & sin, but with careful attention to detail, will be transformed. Ode to Ziegfeld Follies includes interpretations of J.C Leyendecker's Arrow Collar Man, C. Dana Gibson's girls, Eugene Sandow & Anna Held - some historical sex symbols, exotic & decorative animals & vaudevillian characters are all executed over various media.
