Grant Stevens: Are you upset with me? - Art Collector

6 February 2012 | Brisbane-based digital artist Grant Stevens has released his first book, Are you upset with me?, which explores his use of the everyday language of mass media – largely the vernacular provided by Hollywood, television, pop music and the internet – as readymade content.

The artist's reputation was established when he released a series of computer generated animated text videos that explored whether the nature of clichés are trivial and vacuous, profound and authentic, or somehow both at once.

The book includes essays by Mark Pennings and Chris Kraus.

Are you upset with me? has been jointly published by Gallery Barry Keldoulis and the Institute of Modern Art.
