Greenaway commits to three major 2013 art fairs - Art Collector

27 November 2012 | Adelaide’s Greenaway Art Gallery has signed on for Art Dubai in March next year.

Director Paul Greenaway says he plans to take two major works by Hossein Valamanesh, a new photo-based work from Ariel Hassan and new work by Mat Collishaw.

He will be one of the only Australian gallerists to participate, along with Sutton Gallery. (Berlin’s Arndt, which has staged pop-ups in Sydney and Melbourne, will also be exhibiting.) The Dubai fair is now attracting a growing number of galleries from India and Indonesia as well as Middle Eastern galleries and European stalwarts like Yvon Lambert from Paris and Victoria Miro from London.

It will be extremely busy start to the year for Greenaway, who is also taking Nasim Nasr to the Art Stage Singapore art fair in January before heading across to the India Art Fair (formerly the India Art Summit) to exhibit Hossein Valamanesh, Ariel Hassan and Santiago Sierra. The three artists will already be familiar to Indian audiences following their inclusion in India’s new Kochi-Muziris Biennale, which opens on 12 December 2012 in Kerala.

Art Stage Singapore runs from 24 to 27 January 2013, the India Art Fair from 31 January to 3 February 2013 in New Delhi, and the Dubai Art Fair from 20 to 23 March 2013.
