All About Art – Brisbane will profile Alcaston Gallery’s exciting stable of emerging and acclaimed artists, showcasing the best in Contemporary Art from Australia and the Asia Pacific Region.

This year our Annual Collectors’ exhibition will focus on Naomi Hobson from far north Queensland, who employs a dynamic colour palette and unique gesture to create rich compositions inspired by her culture and country. Naomi is currently exhibiting in GOMA Q: Contemporary Queensland Art at the Queensland Art Gallery of Modern Art, Brisbane until 11 October 2015. Naomi Hobson is a finalist in the 32nd Telstra National Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Art Award and will be exhibited with Alcaston Gallery at Sydney Contemporary 15, 10 – 13 September, 2015.

Also featured in All About Art - Brisbane is filmmaker, curator and visual artist Angela Tiatia, whose art practice explores contemporary global cultures and the shift in identity encountered by the Pacific Diaspora. Angela is a recipient of the prestigious 2015 Beijing Studio Program run by 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, and has been shortlisted for the NSW Government’s Visual Arts Fellowship (Emerging) 2015. Angela is also an invited artist in the Eighth Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art (APT 8) at Queensland Art
