Group exhibition: Material Evidence - Art Collector

Material Evidence showcases two artists of diverse backgrounds but working in the same medium. Yasuhisa Kohyama created many of the works in this exhibition during a residency at Sturt Pottery in Mittagong in 2004. Living in Shiga, Japan, he uses anagama firing to create forms inspired by natural elements of fire and wind. A Mittagong resident, Sandy Lockwood, has re-interpreted Neolithic objects -axes and grinding stones – in her work using salt glazed wood fired porcelain and stoneware.
