|In a bid to explore the shifting definition of Australian identity, this exhibition presents the work of five artists whose origins are from the Asia Pacific region including Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, Thailand and New Zealand.|
The exhibition features work by Eric Bridgeman (PNG), MIke Chavez (Philippines), Bundit Puangthong (Thailand), Vipoo Srivilasa (Thailand) and Regan Tamanui (NZ).
Co-curated by Mike Chavez and Marita Smith, this exhibition considers the forces that shape cultural acceptance by throwing the spotlight back onto the viewer.
Works in the exhibition merge traditional iconography with a generous dose of irony to dismantle accepted notions of sovereignty such as Chavez' large screenprinted work FUCK OFF WE'RE FULL.
