Group exhibition: Tino i le Vā (Bodies in the Space) - Art Collector

Angela Tiatia, Walking the Wall (video still), 2014. Courtesy: the artist and Alcaston Gallery.

Tino i le Vā engages with the myriad of representations of Pacific Island bodies throughout history, in art, literature and the media. Using performance, video, photography and prints, this exhibition sees Pacific artists working in Australia today challenge post-colonial visions of Oceanic people, by creating personal interpretations where the artist becomes the subject, not the object. Artists include Torika Bolatagici, Eric Bridgeman, Chantal Fraser, Kirsten Lyttle, Greg Semu, Salote Tawale, and Angela Tiatia & Naup Waup.

Exhibition opens: 2-4pm Saturday 16 August 2014
