Hazelhurst Art on Paper winners for 2013 - Art Collector

10 July 2013 | Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre has revealed the winners of its 2013 Art on Paper awards at the exhibition's opening ceremony held on the weekend.

Photographer Lynne Roberts-Goodwin has been awarded the main $15,000 award for her monumental work
As the sky falls through five fingers, shown above. Roberts-Goodwin won the Josephine Ulrick and Win Schubert Photography Prize three years ago and her work is held in several key public collections including the Art Gallery of New South Wales, National Gallery of Victoria and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sydney.

Aside from the main prize, there was also a $5,000 emerging artist award, a $5,000 local artist prize and an inaugural Packers Prize of an artist residency at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery on offer. Gregory Hodge won the emerging artist prize, Michelle Cawthorn won the local artist award (winning work pictured above) and photographer Justine Varga was awarded the Hazelhurst residency.

Judging this year's award was art critic and writer Andrew Frost. He shortlisted 96 works out of over 750 submissions. The Hazelhurst Art on Paper Award 2013 will be on display at Hazelhurst Regional Gallery in Sydney's Sutherland Shire until 25 August and is sponsored by art storage, installation & transportation company Global Specialised Services.
