Lost Weekend is presented by Nicholas Thompson Gallery at Neospace over Melbourne Art Week. In this new series of drawings, Yardley explores her fascination with Australian New Wave cinema of the 1970s, investigating the threatening aspects of our natural environment and it’s relationship to our perceived national identity. The works recall the collages of the Dada and Surrealist movements and the photographs of Max Dupain. Heidi Yardley has been a finalist in significant Australian prizes including the Archibald Prize (2016, 2014, 2013), The Wynne Prize (2016), The Sulman Prize (2014) and the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize (2013, 2011, 2009). Yardley’s work is held in a number of public collections including Artbank, Gippsland Art Gallery, and UQ Museum.
