13 March 2013 | There have been numerous acquisitions announced by public institutions during March.

Shaun Gladwell's video installation Broken Dance (above) is one of four new acquisitions by the Art Gallery of New South Wales. It was purchased with funds donated by art collector Andrew Cameron.

The Art Gallery of Western Australia and Artbank have both acquired works by ceramicist
Peter Cooley. He is represented by Martin Browne Contemporary in Sydney.

And
Ben Quilty has gifted a significant work to the Art Gallery of South Australia in commemoration of the tenth anniversary of the gallery's collector's group. The seven metre long landscape painting is his remake of H J Johnstone's Evening Shadows with Qulity's renowned Rorschach technique.
